The collective outrage these generate on social media really do remind me of the two minutes of hate. Twitter was bad before. In a pandemic is fucking poison on people’s minds. As a general rule of thumb anything I see on social media I assume is misleading in some way, ESPECIALLY if it confirms my preconceived biases.

People cannot be trusted to behave rationally and you have to factor that into your risk assessment of your own behavior. See I LIKE the many versions of the same thing, because if you compare and contrast a few, you get an idea of what each ingredient/method brings to the table. But yes, it can be a lot.
