I recently had the chance to sit down and watch the first two movies and the Christmas special with my kiddos who took an interest in dragons and these movies.

I think the “magic” we see in the trailer is his own flavor of CGI to mimic magic in the MCU. He has some knowledge that it is gesture-based and involves symbols, but doesn’t know enough to make it accurate.

I think you’re right. Maybe the Kree method of memory wiping is closer to the Winter Soldier version, and requires regular “maintenance” sessions. She could be told that it is to recharge her powers, while really being a means to suppress her memories/personality/etc.

I think it’s simpler than that. Carol is a product of Kree technology/design/training/DNA/etc (with her powers at least). If Carol convinces the Kree and Skrulls to leave Earth be, it wouldn’t be a reach for the Kree or Skrulls, in a moment of spite, to make Carol promise to stay away as well. She was Kree special…

Also, that will explain why she hasn’t aged since 1995. The trailer specifically said that they made her so she would “live longer.” Whatever the Kree did to her granted her longevity and slowed down her aging, much like Captain America.

If you’re someone who believes he was given this gift in order to help, and then that is taken away but you’re still alive, it throws everything into question.
