We got our 8 year old niece a nerf crossbow for her birthday last year and she loves the hell out of it. :D
Ugh, don't forget the part where you feel bloated and have to take a nap. Cannonball bread filled with clam chowder ruined several trips to the beach for me before I learned my lesson.
Yeah, I couldn't identify the joke here. I was just deeply uncomfortable the whole time.
The video is eerily silent...
Also that house, with the weird PC tower placement, the raw meat, and the absence of giggling make me worried... I didn't like this video as much as I wanted to.
Your right. It might slow the cultural implosion.
The fault of films most like. There's a salacious fascination with these things. People are bored. You know.
If you think all the counter evidence is "propaganda" you aren't looking at anything critically.
Hah, I agree. And also I'm exactly the same height and dress size. highfive?!??
I'm enjoying your posts. Just as an aside, though, the word for that mirrored symmetry is chirality. Your left hand is chiral to your right, for instance. It's a flipped image. The word actually derives from the Greek word for hand.
Cognitive dissonance? Because I read "Mistakes Were Made, But Not By Me" and that's what I'm thinking about right now. The awe is a fig leaf—people just don't like feeling like they've been taken, so they move the goalpost. Suddenly it isn't about whether it's real, it's about whether it's plausible and "why can't you…

Video is private. I guess I've seen no unboxing videos... :(
Indeed. My first name was made up and refers to nothing at all and gives me no end of trouble. My middle name is Noel explicitly because it means Christmas and my mom buys a lot of "Noel" ornaments and considers them personalized.
There aren't enough balanced responses in these comments, thanks for getting into the weeds. :)
I was just listening to a gynecologist on Fresh Air last night saying the placenta does a very good job of filtering these things, and even in heavy users (which my mom wasn't) very little gets to the baby, and our concern about irresponsible mothers is largely unfounded. A lot of things can go wrong in a pregnancy…
I love Nineteen Eighty-Four but I actually watched Brazil for the first time right after I read The Trial, and I was still grappling with how I felt about it. The movie just instantly crystallized all my feelings about the book, and I really feel Gilliam was channeling it and not Nineteen Eighty-Four (which he…
Clarke makes it clear in the introduction to the book that he wanted the film to be taken as its own distinct work, though. The book was written alongside the film and I think in many ways it made it easier for Clarke to work out his creative differences with the Kubrick.
