Because she’s not talentless, is already attached to a dystopian YA property, and was smart enough to build skills and a business on the back end before she gets aged out.

I just thought it got very convoluted and ridiculous by the end. It’s been a looong time since I watched it, so I couldn’t give you specifics, but I remember nearing the end and just losing all interest.
