Those salary figures MIGHT only be true for majors, which you'd be lucky to get hired into. I'm guessing you're more likely to get into a regional for many years, which has less money, more legs per day, and less hours paid per hour worked.

Kyle, I would think that a Heli stationed halfway down the course would still be able to get there plenty fast. And what about a handful of crew-cabs with firefighters and their gear stationed along the route? I don't think the heli needs to pace the racer the entire time, especially as they can go as the crow
