The other issue I read (again, Im not a pro, just putting information together) is that the pilots were only expecting to trim 0.6 degrees but the 737 MAX MCAS could operate up to 2.5 degrees. So, maybe they “click” the trim wheel expecting a certain amount of clicks to trim out 0.6 degrees, but they really needed…

Im not a plane guru by any stretch but the article reads like every time the system reset it kept cranking up in 2.5 degree increments until it was maxed out. I would think at some point pilot trim wouldn’t be able to keep up with that either.

Im pretty sure I could see (and avoid) the large shards. I dont think the plate/bowl/whatever would “explode” enough to send a large shard sticking into my skin, but I have shattered a Corelle plate before (luckily, outdoors) and my first thought was if it was inside my house how would I know if I got all the pieces? …

Yep. My first “exposure” to F1 has been the Netflix series, but I gathered something similar. Remembered reading Honda was in some really bad press about...something (wasnt sure what) but the engines seemed to run well.

I think the issue isnt too much sealant during reassembly, I think they just werent very careful or clean about getting rid of the original stuff.

That is assuming they ever make it a recall, instead of just kicking the can enough so that people who paid for it to get fixed will NOT get reimbursed down the line.
