Even though this site is primarily geared towards women, it'd be nice if this post included asian males in the equation. It's *probably* not your intention but it made me feel like, as an Asian Male, it couldn't possibly be considered that there'd be "yellow fever" for us guys. It's still gross but it'd be interesting

Being an Asian Male in the South, you tend to stop being so amazed at how people treat you. I've been told I do "a great impersonation of an American". It's like ignorance is something to flaunt.

Same story. My sisters aren't big on the viet guys and I've pretty much only been with white or hispanic girls.

Both points I completely agree with. Saw these the other week and the Wonder Woman design is what came to mind on how to do it properly. The artist in this article had a good sentiment but poorly executed. Glad that Buffy never had to deal with this.

That was my first thought. You don't need to be a porn connessieur to see what's wrong with this. I would've been more interested in an article that gets into why "interracial" only means "black" (but that answer is kinda obvious) or why a lot of scenes tend to lean more towards stereotypes in race relations (but that

I felt like I was the only person defending Andrea. The hate that for her is ridiculous. Also, how is the sexist opinion news? News that he said it, yes but I thought it was pretty apparent early on in the series that there was a deficit when it came to understanding/writing the women on this show.

Great to see the appreciation for this talented woman. She really is one of my favorites but now with all the new cast members the talent is just so wide spread it can be difficult to pick a favorite at times. Best of luck to Nasim but I hope she'll do more sketch work in the future.

Despite him getting some action, he was still treated as the beta male. Ask any woman who watches this show and they'll still go for the reformed redneck racist than the chivalrous minority.

Just watch Tangled if you haven't already. Despite another commenter pointing out the ageism in it, it's a solid movie with feminist undertones and the anthropomorphic sidekick doesn't even speak. I think they learned a thing or two from Mulan.

Obviously this doesn't mean that you think *every* Asian guy is hot but thanks for your input nonetheless. Ironically I can't stand it when white girls like me for my culture yet the majority of the girls I love are white because we share the same interests (nerdery, food, music)

I only learned about those guys after watching the doc The Slanted Screen on Netflix. The whole time looking at these leading men I was just thinking "But we were so close!!! What happened?!!" Currently trying to find a torrent of Shigeta's "Bridge to the Sun"

As I have only seen the still from the movies, it's definitely some bullshit. Even down to Jim Sturgess, the actor who was in yellowface, laughing on twitter about it.

I respectfully disagree. While I see what you're saying, it's not our job to be constant advertisements. Personally, I hate when a woman only likes me for my culture. Granted, I lived in the Bay Area where the Asian Community is massive but if you want to know about something all you have to do is ask, or I dunno,

I- I . . . oh my god. Marry me.

Yeah, I'd agree with all of that.

Thanks. Happy to hear about you two and may many more happy years continue for you. All we can do right now is lead by example.

Ugh. When that movie came out, even though I don't know any martial arts, I couldn't have been more angry. I was a child at the time and still understood that an opportunity for some representation was sorely taken away from us.

Excellent point. This is also the site that asks why isn't anyone watching Enlightened yet posts an article about Lena Dunham and or GIRLS as often as they can.

That was such a big deal for me. I actually lined up opening night at the local indie theatre and they had the cast signing posters and the line for the movie was around the block. It wasn't perfect but it was definitely in the right direction.
