Do you not remember the flashback in book 6? The school has a fund for students who can’t afford their supplies, Dumbledore offered it to Tom Riddle. I know where I grew up (southern US) that’s pretty common: you don’t pay for your education, but you do have to buy supplies, however if you can’t afford them you can

I adore the HP books and am endlessly grateful to Rowling for creating them, but yeah, there are TONS of issues.

Woman-nipples are inherently less ok than man-nipples, and apparently the fact that they’re meant to look feminine is less important than the fact that they’re attached to a cis man.

As long as she’s not a villain powered by make-up, I think we’ll be fine.

200/1 Rickon and Osha spent some time with cannibals and Rickon eats Ramsay alive.

Actually, originally social justice warrior was a positive term. Hell, I’m still baffled that we’ve managed to make “warrior for social justice” something that we criticize people for.

Serious question: do you consider all performance art to be objectification? Because all performance art involves a person being symbolic of something else. Personally, since she performers are always willing participants (meaning they have agency), usually passionate about what they choose to symbolize, and often the

Why would you think that?

True, but you can’t accuse someone of objectifying women when their intention and goal is to treat women as people deserving of respect. Not everything that relates to women’s bodies and misses the point is objectification.

While there’s no clear litmus test for what is or isn’t objectification, I wouldn’t say that’s what this is (at least, not necessarily). The artist’s intention is clearly that they be considered as whole people worthy of respect (subjects, not objects).

“You should hang upside down after sex.”

“Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave,”

“I feel” is, in my opinion, a quick way of saying “I know/believe ___ but recognize that I don’t have proof so I’m saving everyone’s time by acknowledging that.” It may not be appropriate in every situation (for example, formal debates), but the vast majority of all statements people have ever and will ever make are

Stark didn’t really warrant a biopic until he became Iron Man.

Dear Marvel,

On the one hand, yes it is probably racist that black actors and actresses are seeing so many roles where their character is something other than a black person.

I’m no huge expert on grenades, but I do know that they were in full armor, and modern armor is very good protection against low-velocity projectiles (like frag grenades).

There’s also the fact that most of the robots in Avengers 2 are Ultron. Multiple bodies, sure, but only one mind (actually killed by Vision, if I remember correctly). Either way, I wouldn’t consider every single one of those to be a kill. They’re basically just suit-shaped drones controled by one person.

1. Some of those blows are really obviously not fatal. Sure, the guys in the closed tank with the grenade are dead, but the guys who’re wearing full suits of modern armor and just got pushed back a few yards by the grenade cap threw in front of them? They’re fine.

Very helpful recap, but I’m pretty sure that’s not how you pronounce Daenerys’ name.
