They can be. But I thought this one worked well to service the story.

I know it’s almost cliche at this point but wow, Ledger’s performance as the Joker is a tour de force.

Fuck you, Barry.

io9’s official policy seems to be “We don’t recap Peacemaker.” Having said that, I really enjoyed it. I think my favorite part of the finale is that it doesn’t leave half a dozen loose threads dangling or end on a cliffhanger to tease a season 2. Everything has a satisfying conclusion IMO. Dozens of other people have

This ship that was involved in the incident off of Portugal this week…

I too feel on fire when I have too much Cayenne

Yes. The fan service detracted from some truly spectacular Star Wars set pieces like the train heist and the Kessel Run. Those were awesome! I saw a lot more imagination and world building in Solo than in the rest of Disney’s Star Wars theatrical output.

Fuck off with this “forgettable” bullshit. Solo tried and mostly delivered on being a super entertaining space heist adventure movie and is probably the one Disney movie that holds up the best to scrutiny all this time later.

Count me as one who loved Solo. Yes, it could’ve been better had it had a singular vision but it was still really fun. It’s not Lord and Miller’s fault per say but if Disney wanted Solo to turn out the way it did, they should’ve never hired L&M. That’s not their style. I’m sure it was much more jokey and Kathleen

She kept that ship going without being able to go back to spacedock.

My partner and I never watched Voyager but we started last year and we LOVE it. We’re TNG fans and that’s still our favorite, but Voyager has been so good. It works so well for the episodic content with the overall goal always being clear. It’s pretty close to TNG in both of our books, now.

VOYAGER, although it had a number of excellent episodes over the years, was frustrating because we knew how any attempt to get home would end. Much of the time it was TNG lite because of that. It also separated the show from most of the TREK alien races and ongoing conflicts that could’ve fueled a great many stories.

One hopes the shortage of staff at gizmodo will ease, allowing articles to be assigned to writers who either know about the subject matter or have the sense not to flag their ignorance as part of their story.

I mean you can make fun of the guy for having a “toy” like this but you know what? This project has employed hundreds of people in the hard hit marine sector and will continue to employee lots of people for the substantial on-going maintenance that will be required. Captains, engineers, all the other crew, the ports

Even though I could never afford it (obviously) I think this is ridiculously awesome. I feel like Jalopnik currently has the biggest disconnect in terms of how writers see their takes being received, and what their actual reading audience is. Most of us like to see cool stuff, especially if it was repurposed like this.

Surprising? Wut? Peyton Manning is pretty well known for being funny. Not just “funny for an athlete” either, but funny. It’s not surprising he slipped into this bit seamlessly. And his SNL hosting episode was a big hit at the time. It got talked about for a few days in social circles beyond just sports shows. He

“Especially that short where he just wails on a whole lot of little kids.

We might differ on some details but I’ll have a drink with you anytime (after the pandemic obv.).

I used to be conservative. My views haven’t changed, but the definition of what conservative is has been driven to the extremes by lunatics. It used to mean personal freedom, smaller government, lower taxes, etc. Now, it seems to to be all about being a racist, embracing insane conspiracy theories, and embracing

Unless they are gay or don’t believe in white Jesus or a woman. Then you all seem to have no problem telling them what they cannot do.
