No, I wouldn't say that. I'm perfectly capable of being sexist towards a man, despite being a woman.

I think some people do indeed use it that way. I don't believe the OP is one of them. That second gif is what set me off, not the first one. It said it all. She was overcome with glee at the idea of hurting any white person simply because they were white.

"Do POCs have to be saints all the time? I certainly don't hold myself to that standard."

"Once we reach that day of equality maybe we can talk about the other forms of sexism, but we're really fighting misogyny. Yes, patriarchy hurts men too, but that's not really the central fight."

"Right, my point is that while she might be throwing a stone, assuming she's a POC, she's getting boulders piled on her from elsewhere."

"And again, I'd emphasize that you're fighting the wrong fight. Institutional racism is still a much larger problem than potentially mild acts of bigotry on a women centered web site. I'm not sure how to convince you of that perspective though"

I totally understand the point you made about institutional racism. Thank you for that. "Racism" to me is a very big (in scope) word with several definitions. That's why I was utterly confused at the idea that minorities can't be racist.

I can't speak for all white people. Stop being like that.

They should blow off their steam at actual racists though, instead of at all white people (or at all people of any race).

No, that's not how it works. Bigotry is never acceptable.

Quit throwing institutional racism links at me and pretending it's the only definition of the word. That's dishonest. I never once called this institutional racism.

So should I call them bigots instead? Would that be a term they could understand?

Garak was totally the best.

Yah, I'm a terrible person for standing up against people being shitty to one another based on their color of their skin.

Did you even read my comment about the link you gave me? I read it. Do me the courtesy of the same.

Lot of racism on Jezebel. But you're lying anyway. My post history is fairly extensive and covers many topics.

I don't like racism! I don't put up with racism against brown people, nor against white people.

That's institutional racism, which is only one kind of racism.

The very FIRST comment on that page gets it. It's racism but it's not institutional racism.

No, what I'm seeing is a few racists thinking they can be shitty to all white people and not get called on their behavior.
