Well, to be honest, that’s not a very helpful reply. I wasn’t making an argument that you should pick one over the other, just inquiring what about the Grom was appealing. Having owned a 250, I think it’s a lot more similar to the Grom than it is to the ZX-series Ninjas. It’s not a sportbike by any means, or even

Is the Grom really that much physically smaller than the Ninja 250? I haven’t seen a Grom in person, but I had a 250 for a while, and even at 5’9” I found it tiny.

The old school NinJA 250s aren’t really sportbikes, they’re just upright/standards with plastic fairings. Kind of like the older 650R’s. (I’ve had both, they’re nothing like the ZX-series Ninjas).

Just out of curiosity, what makes a $3200 Grom appealing over, say, an $1800 used Ninja 250?

Yeah, it’s easier to climb the corporate ladder when you have people to step on.

Watch House of Cards. Anything including outright murder goes in the climb to the top. There’s a reason sociopaths end up in the C-suite, and it’s not necessarily because they’re good at the job. They’re just better at eliminating the competition, literally or figuratively.

It’s actually a well thought out strategy, which is something I never thought I’d say about Gawker Media. First, you get io9 to appeal to the people who are most likely to enjoy BTTF (Back to the Future is a Damn Perfect Movie, io9) and then you get Gizmodo to appeal to the cynical hipsters who hate everything,

Tell you what, I’ll stop calling wheeled transportation devices that don’t hover “hoverboards” if you stop calling human-controlled non-autonomous aircraft “drones”.

I have mixed feelings about this. Microtransactions leave a bad taste, and it’s a slippery slope to “pay for engrams” or “Just $0.99 to refill your heavy ammo!” and “$5 to double your number of weekly raid runs that drop loot!”. But on the other hand, if there are enough people out there who want to pay for things

Do you have any thoughts on Lenovo pre-installing spyware on their computers? Especially since they were caught three times, as recently as yesterday?

Whales... don’t have those.

Is that Häkke or Omolon? What perks did you roll?

Maybe it would help if you actually read the linked article?

I don’t know, I don’t have one and I use my phone with a Chromecast and Plex server on my home network. I can’t imagine the Winbook is a very powerful device though, so maybe you’d want to cast from a better server if you needed to play very high bitrate files?

I’ll check that out, thanks.

Wrong. It’s a hotspot with storage, which means the file could be uploaded to the device and then downloaded from the device in two separate transactions.

Turns out my version was over a year out of date. Now it can.

...So, it turns out I had server updates disabled since pretty much when it was first set up, and now I can cast directly from the web app on my desktop. I still prefer using the android app, at least with that you can navigate your library and make/modify playlists and such while content is playing. With the web app
