Since when is Manhattan in New England?

Penn Station at least has that amazing announcer with the sexy Lauren Bacall voice. It takes me away from all the misery. There are YouTube clips of her.

What is the judicial rationale behind the media blackout? This is Canada in the early 90s all over again. Is this typical in NZ? I didn't think immunity meant "immunity from anyone being able to even hear who you are or what you might have done, even though we'll never establish that in a court of law."

Yes, but not for lack of trying on the part of certain states. What country are you commenting from? It's a story here every election year. The laws have been shown to unduly discriminate against racial minorities and the poor, and despite Republican-mongered fears, there has been no demonstrated evidence of

And if you carefully read what I wrote, you'll see that I never suggested it did. However, in her role as a college professor, teaching the knowledge and critical thinking skills that hopefully build a more enlightened citizenry, she possibly was not expecting to have to suck up to a (probably not college-educated)

If she is a professor of English, she has earned a Ph.D., made a career of close reading and logical argumentation, and is used to being the figure of authority in the classroom. This must have been a particularly galling reality check about being a woman of color in Arizona.

If laws requiring ID to vote have been ruled illegal, I don't understand how you can be required to have ID just to leave your house. People without ID would be breaking the law just to get to the polling place!

Yes. I just can't believe it got through all the way to the newsstand. The late night comedians are going to have a field day with this.

Seriously. At a subtle level, it was a very ill-advised shot that her team should have nixed. Brings to mind her broken wrist, her concussion, etc. Only after really looking at it did I see it as "fun."

It really is! I couldn't believe how easy it was. And the battery, along with the special tiny screwdrivers, cost $8, including shipping. Repair took 5 minutes tops, and my 4S is running like a brand-new phone. I felt like a tech genius and a bargainmeister.

I've done WAY more than hold hands outside that bar. Downtown is supergay. Grove Street is not Greenville or Journal Square (the latter of which was where I got a serious beatdown a few years ago, but I have no reason to believe that was a hate crime, unless it's because I'm white).

Depends on what kind of ice cream you're talking about. The ONLY dairy product I ever have problems with (granted, I haven't had a glass of milk in many years, so I have no idea about that) is soft-serve ice cream, which does a real number on my stomach now (never used to be a problem). Apparently it is chock full of

Same here. And same.

"Messing up the words to my own song, and I don't care..." Now THAT is diva. Luh huh.

I think the point is that Square is not a reliable source for adequate data. I've never seen Square in NYC or NJ, so maybe all their numbers are for upstate/suburban areas? In any case, ignoring big chunks of the population is not a great way to go when making sweeping geographic/demographic/sociological claims.

I was wondering the same thing. To my knowledge, the late-night shows always tape 5-6pm or thereabouts on the date of airing. Taping a segment nearly a month in advance is unheard of (or was that a typo that should read May 1?).

LOL! The fact that the relationship was *one* episode kind of makes the point. And of course it's ladies kissing on screen (hubba hubba!), and of course it's not really queer (whew!) because Dax was not technically gendered. The breadcrumbs we accept...

Get in line. To my knowledge, there has never been even one LGBT character featured in any iteration of the Trekverse, despite the huge queer fanbase (and the origin of slash fiction). (And no, Janeway/7of9 doesn't count, but it was hot to watch.) So much for that egalitarian, utopian future.

Before AIDS? Get some education, fool.
