Oh the humanity. Financial success is very tightly correlated to intelligence, not surprisingly.

I see that you’ve never managed a large engineering organization. If you think they self organize around useful problems, well .....
If you were to build two islands, one populated with people who are neutral on Musk as a person but respect what he’s done and recognize the unique skill to achieve it, and you had another island full of people that write ‘Musk is an idiot, dur dur’ on the internet. I am confident that the first island would have 10X…
I love how keyboard jockeys make these sort of comments about a man that would absolutely intellectually crush them on just about any topic, just because he makes some throwaway comment to drive his teams.
I agree on the GT4 req, I picked up a barely used Spyder for just over $110K. Not sure the GTS will be a collectors car, GT4 and Spyder, maybe. All Porsches hold their value in today’s market. It is not impossible to get a GTS/Spyder/911 new at MSRP, but you just have to find the right dealer, be comfortable waiting a…
I’m always amazed at how many people on the internet are smarter than Elon Musk, yet are somehow not billionaires.
I’m glad you are getting all worked up about a hypothetical scenario in which a robot shoots someone, when this week we are dealing with a real scenario of a 10 month old OD’ing on fentanyl dropped in a playground. I would prefer 20% more ‘police state’ and 20% less ‘dystopian drug enabling free for all’.
Early ones, yes. Newer are better. These are uninformed takes all around.
Yep, which makes it even more unlikely that FTX directly lead to G-Wagon price drops.
No. Definitely not. This is a lazy take. FTX was a $32B wipeout. Tech stocks have wiped out $3 TRILLION in value since the beginning of the year. Which do you really think had a bigger impact?
What happened to journalism? You just editorialized some Twitter posts. Crypto is not a large enough part of the economy to make this level of impact. This is much more likely a result of overall economic trends, as the drop in tech stock ($3T in value wiped out YTD) will have had orders of magnitude larger impacts on…
How on earth do you spec a $260K GTS? Be aware that the market is dramatically shifting. check classified listings and you will see that they are starting to hit the secondary market at MSRP.
Interesting, as my dealer told me it’d likely be easier to get the T allocation. I’ve been waiting on a GTS for 18 mos and we discussed rolling it into the T as a faster path to get a car.
It was SLK underpinnings, not SL. So this:
Agree to disagree. The taillights are one of my favorite design touches.
911 GTS owner, which is supposed to be the fully specced 911 S alternative. Still out the door with $31K in options. Worth it. No PASM.
Add 20-30K to all the Porsches for reasonable option specs. I would guess that <1% leave the dealer with less than 10K of options. Also 18mo+ wait time.
Yes, keep the people that like cruises on the cruise ships.
I would expect that there is minimal enforcement, but if you get it inspected, there will be a record that is auditable. Every once in a while, some agent may want to make some waves and go check the records and crush cars. It has happened with grey imports multiple times. They go through the system for years with no…
I grew up in TX. That’s why I got into mountain biking. Drive to the park, ride, drive home. I had a Slurpee thrown at me when road riding, drivers swerve even on multi-lane open roads, etc. In Cali now and it is bike heaven. You still have the occasional angry driver, but it’s rare.
