I think the main difference is for the first avengers there wasn’t much baggage to carry around so he could make 100% what he wanted. From all the interview clips and snippets it sounds like Marvel was far more hands on this time around, demanding cuts, deaths, plot line changes, etc. I am not defending him outright,…
I’m not saying it wasn’t enough time to change the way things were presented, but an hour of extra footage is ton and can radically change even small scenes. If you’ve ever seen the LOTR extended editions you can see the difference even 30 mins of extra footage can make and how much more fleshing out of characters it…
You’re right heaven forbid one makes kneejerk reactions to a commercial product that Wheedon was on record having said was forcibly cut. Have fun trolling!
I’m a little sick of hearing this excuse for just about every issue with the movie. There’s no way in hell a 3.5/4 hour movie was going to fly so I think it’s up to the creator to tailor the content down to the cinema length.
I don’t get the shot at DC here... they’re bringing Wonder Woman to the forefront with her own movie before Marvel even hires an actress to lead one.
You perfectly nail the problems with Black Widow. For me also was the weird moment of ultron kidnapping her and putting her in a cell. It was bad for everyone, her, ultron and the movie. The cherry on top was when dainty Banner, out of Hulk mode recues her super easy. For an agent that in the first avenger was tied to…
The arguments over Black Widow have gotten ugly. Last night, Joss Whedon quit Twitter, with an image that pointed…
I’d imagine the reaction of someone who doesn’t watch SHIELD (say... me) to be “Oh man, how are they going to get out of this one? Are they actually going to have to make a greater good sacri— oh, no. A magic flying machine just popped out of the clouds. I guess that’s that.”
I think that these were the most important parts of the episode, all these little scenes reinforcing the hints that were previously laid down about Jon Snow’s parentage and seeding new hints. This is some major foreshadowing for the big reveal.
Assorted ramblings:
This is what annoyed me so much. Nobody says anything about the massive destruction and carnage in Avengers and the carelessness of the battles taht a team of 6 people engage in, but they thrash Superman for not being careful fighting alone against a small army of people as strong as him. It’s silly and almost pure…
What’s stupid is that all the people arguing about superman are wrong and the movie is also wrong. Superman really is an amazing superhero. He sees everything and his reaction speed is genuinely superhumanly fast. A simple slow motion shot, where they could have shown how superman planned out the fight with Zod to…
Only in a literal sort of sense.
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld might look intimidating — there are 40 books, and they’re humorous fantasy, which seems…
It’s just common villain curtsey!
suck
Embarrassing past roles and you chose The Phantom of Opera? Charles Dance is the prison doctor/Ellen Ripley love interest in Alien 3:
Littlefinger will always be Carcetti to me.
I know him as Gaius Julius Caesar, from the Rome TV series.
