It’s hard to make an argument for an “album of the year” this early into 2020 but man, if you haven’t listened to Andy Shauf’s The Neon Skyline yet, I strongly suggest you do. The narrative he tells throughout is beautiful and I don’t think I’ve heard anyone blend whimsical music and self-degrading lyrics this well

Speller... hardly know her!!! But for real, your post was primed for an ironic misspelling somewhere with you being a good speller. I would have laughed. Anywho.. happy Friday!

Nice! Glad you dig it!

Bear with me on this tangent but if you like Frances Quinlan’s band Hop Along, I strongly recommend giving Great Grandpa’s album Four of Arrows a listen. Came out at the end of 2019 but it’s one of my favorites of 2019.

Destroyer’s new album is fantastic. Great call on that. Poliça’s new album was released today... it’s meh 🤷🏻‍♂️

A Quiet Place 2: Too Quiet To Quit

Swiss Army Man is a one-of-a-kind film and Andy Hull, frontman of Manchester Orchestra, does an incredible job scoring the film.

B99 is one of the most grossly underrated tv shows I’ve ever watched and I hope it never goes away.

This makes good financial sense.

This makes good financial sense.

Strongly recommend listening to the new Andy Shauf album... kind of a reincarnate of Elliott Smith but a little more whimsical musically while still retaining those self-deprecating lyrics.

My friend lost her sense of smell from a head injury at a very young age but you’re right: things as dangerous as “being afraid to live alone because of gas leaks” to “I got hammered last night... do I smell like vodka?” really puts things into perspective on what “normal” senses we take for granted.

Let’s make 2020 the year we stop saying terms like “deadass” and “stan”. I have a feeling that would put some time back on proverbial clock.

For someone who has put close to 100 hours into Dead Cells and just recently purchased Children of Morta and enjoys it... this looks like a must-have for my library.

They forgot to include the Philly King.

Considering 100 is roughly the “average” IQ, I’d say those odds are slim to none. I’d put the over/under at 450.

This is really cool... that’s it. That’s all I have to say. It’s just fucking cool.

I’m glad to read stuff like this. As I’ve entered my 30s and have less time to play AAA games, I’ve found games like Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, and Children of Morta to be games I put a few hours into here and there and I absolutely love them. Glad to hear you were a fan of this; I’m adding it to my list.

I donated to Wires because, although the entire thing is heartbreaking, watching video of animals caught in the fire and some species nearly becoming extinct is killing me. Here is a guide to where money goes for their org but typically you can find something on all these sites.

Straight up nothing annoys me more than when people get out of my car and SLAM the friggin’ door.
