I’ve been diligently moving to eBooks because the need to be able to move and have fewer boxes to occupy a smaller space. Until recently I had my original paperback version of Star Wars later to be named A New Hope. I also have several copied of Stephen R Boyett’s The Architect of Sleep.
If the Beyonders killed the aspects of infinity and celestials can we assume the demons survived the incursions? I don’t think Mephisto gets his due.
FINALLY an article about space exploration based in the reality of human limitations!!!!
I agree saying it’s about saving humanity is not a good motivation in that it’s only true in the most pessimistic sense. But it does need to be about needs, not just wants. We may have technology adequate to the job but we don’t have technology suited for the job yet. Humans live in a gravity well and depend on eating…
Instead of a table saw which is hard to control the cut at least for an amateur I have much more success with my hand held Skil Jigsaw cutting 8 foot pieces of sheetrock.
They kind of explain that. SPOILER
I have some faith that Starz will do a good job with this. Grateful it isn’t going to SyFy which is hit or miss.
I think it was primarily Larry Niven’s Ringworld books which in my teens were Ringworld and Ringworld Engineers. Louis Wu had sex with every humanoid he met practically but as a good science and astronomy student his description of space his whole Known Universe series were exposures to ideas I was certainly not…
At some point I could see being an asteroid belt minor modelled after the merchant seamen. They go out and work for months and takes months of vacations after they sell their materials. But that would be after an industry has been developed to the point where many of the kinks are worked out.
Having recently finished the nano enhancement trilogy by Ramez Naam (Nexus, Crux, Apex) I am reading his non-fiction book More Than Human reviewing where science has already succeeded in enhancing human health and performance as a justification for embracing the dawning technology to enhance performance and postpone…
I don’t get this complaint. The lesson is that nature is random. If you presume to mess with it there will be unintended consequences. I like that JP and JW both highlighted this.
Is it entertaining? YES! Is it thrilling? YES. Should you go see it? YES!

Sorry to letter writer Bill K that he can’t share everything with his twelve year olds but there is a market for adults and what is unnecessary in his mind shouldn’t restrict what Marvel offers its range of fans. This is especially true of the Jessica Jones comics by Brian Michael Bendis which was very adult in…
You speak sacrilege!!! And I agree with you.
Was Tony Stark born on Vulcan too?
Seems like Marvel is becoming a big tent which begs the question what will they be good at if anything. I’m a bit concerned that my love of Marvel superheroes is at risk.
If you thought it was hard to get a cheap flight when time is pressing now, think of what it will cost tomorrow.
If I ever had the chance to write for Marvel I think I’d retcon Franklin being a mutant. He was conceived from parents whose DNA was severely mutated by cosmic radiation. There are other characters like Daisy Johnson whose father is villain Mr Hyde was born with her abilities without being a mutant. The mutant gene is…
