I don't know that I agree Golden Compass could/should have been done low-budget. I think it deserved a big budget and full support for the content. It definitely should have felt grittier. The books deserved better than they got, that's for damn sure.

Wait, WHAT?!

Thought the same thing when I saw it. Why is this set in in the future and a sci-fi film? : Should be in the wilderness after a car crash with a walkie talkie and a bear...

It does a really good job of portraying Banner having to live with his "condition" and all the crazy stuff he has to do in order to survive without incident.

I'd throw "The Lone Ranger" on this list too. There is no way that films should have been so massively overblown as it was. Yeah, the train chase finale was terrific but they could have cut a lot out, much of the over the top action, cut down the budget, a more gritty tale but still the heart of the character for a

The Golden Compass always was a strange pick for a major movie studio, given the book's anti-religious tone. Remember how this was marketed as New Line's next Lord of the Rings? Unfortunately, at least for the U.S., you can't market a film that questions religion without the churches going crazy and telling people to

It does. Technically, you should feel proud. If you've done your job right, no one should be able to tell what you did. When it's there, you don't see it. When it's not there, you feel the absence, even when you don't know exactly what's missing.

So many jaw dropping celestial shots that just demonstrate how small we really are when compared to so many things. That first image from Mount Bromo reminded me of my time deployed out at sea. Some nights, especially past the equator so far from the pollution and light heavy landmasses of any kind, the sky was so

It seems she spends lots of time doing things other than finding a cure.

He was great in Scott Pilgim and was pretty fantastic in his season on Chuck

It's a "win-win."

Did they teach you that at Vegan Academy?

If there is one thing on this earth that you can count on, it's that the stars of Arrow will remove their shirts on-screen.

I think this is DC saying "Sorry we ruined your career and people blame you for Singer's mess."

I was happy with this casting! I also liked when he was evil on Chuck. I hope they are more consistent with including his character than with Isabella (who vanished for about half of season 2 to pop up in the end). I also hope they find lots of excuses to take his shirt off, but I am sure they will, since they are

I agree with everything you said about Routh, Rob. Hated SR, loved him. I really wanted him back for a better sequel.

Agreed. I thought Routh was great in Superman Returns but he would have been even better if the story had focused more on Clark than Superman. Routh had the talent and the MidWest likability factor. Shame that they didn't use it for all its worth.

Yes. Chris Evans and Brandon Routh are my favourite things about that movie.

I don't know that I agree that he's a really good actor, but I did think he was one of the few bright points of Superman Returns—the one element of the homage that didn't feel painfully anachronistic or stupid. I came out of that movie thinking how good he was at doing what that terrible movie asked him to do.

He was perfect in that, along with Chris Evans. I loved the the Superman nod with the Vegan Police using a green ray to take him down.
