Well, being a Dalton fan, I thoroughly enjoyed ‘Licence to Kill’ too. Sure, it had its flaws...lookin’ at you Wayne Newton! Yet, despite LTK’s undeniable grittiness, in hindsight, it still comes off as having been soooo much more balanced a film that every film since ‘Casino Royale’.

Yeah, I too was bummed that, on top of the horrendously written familial connection, Waltz completely phoned this in with, as you’ve indicated, his usual shtick. He’s always struck me as being capable of so much more than that.

Honestly, I’m not so sure about that. Craig has had far greater creative influence on his Bond films than any actor who preceded him in the role. If I recall correctly, he’s been an executive producer on the films since either ‘Quantum of Solace’ or ‘Skyfall’. In fact, that horrid Jack White duet title song, ‘Another

Spot on!!! I loved ‘Casino Royale’ and consider it to be one of my all time favorite Bond films. Yet, the series just went all grim, sour and soulless after that film. Though, it’s been said that the Bond films have been a reflection of the times in which they were created. Grim, sour and soulless certainly fits with p

Absolutely loathed ‘Spectre’! I mean after countless years of legal wrangling with Kevin McClory (even from beyond the grave) over the intellectual ownership of the character Ernst Stavro Blofeld and his organization, S.P.E.C.T.R.E., this completely batshit movie is what we got?? Blofeld’s supposedly Bond’s long lost

Personally, I’m glad that Danny Boyle either quit or got the boot. I love Boyle’s filmwork and even thoroughly enjoyed his somewhat recent mini-series ‘Trust’ (which was a far superior take on the JP Getty Jr. kidnapping than that theatrical Ridley Scott take on that weird slice of history).

‘Starting point’ perhaps, but it ought certainly not have been the end point, given that dangerous absurdity spoken by Ghouliani.

Chuck Todd had a perfect opportunity to completely call out and obliterate Rudy Ghouliani here, on live television. Doing so wouldn’t have been an act of political partisanship, it would simply have been a matter of standing up for the truth, which is what journalism is supposed to be all about. Instead, he just

Stated elsewhere in this thread that I loathed DSC’s first season. Yet, I just did a bit of digging on this kid that DSC has cast as a young Spock, and he’s Gregory Peck’s grandson! Now that I know that, I see the physical resemblance and if he’s inherited his Grand Daddy’s voice, as well as his looks, along with his

Ahhhh...the things we take for granted. I’d always guessed that the season one and two uniform shirts were a velour blend, rather than just straight up velour (which ‘The Cage’ uniforms always struck me as being).

What’s stranger still, for all that I’ve been an obsessive Trekkie for about 43 to 44 years now (since

Busy as my day’s been, I hadn’t even paused to consider ‘The Menagerie’ earlier. I’d say that definitively makes ‘The Cage’ and its depiction of the Enterprise’s trip to Talos IV canon. And yeah, I can’t recall anyone in that court room reacting to how different Spock was. Such a reaction might’ve been a golden series

Seen the Cage more times than I can count, even got a poster of the video release of it somewhere. ‘Cage’ Spock wasn’t nearly as developed as the character we came to know and love over the course of the following 79 episodes. And that’s always been perfectly alright, as ‘The Cage’ was merely the show’s pilot episode.

Not a fan of ‘Discovery’ at all. And I’m not really sure what to make of this news, other than to say that ‘confusion’ is not a word or characteristic I would associate with Spock. Unless he’s undergoing Pon Farr or under the influence of some strange alien spores, or an evolved sentient NASA space probe.

Oiiiii... am I the only one who read this to just find out about that frakkin’ dog??!! Didn’t expect to pop in here and have the WHOLE movie completely spoiled. Sure, there was a spoiler warning, but come on.

Figured you had read Countdown. I actually mostly loathe the JJTrek films, but I really enjoyed Countdown, as a setup to the 2009 film. If all of Countdown’s content had actually been in the 2009 film, I suspect the film would’ve been a whole lot better than it was on its own.

Your pitch has, by and large, been done before in the 2009 IDW comic book series ‘Star Trek Countdown’. The powers that be at CBS, Paramount, along with JJ Abrams and the writing team of JJTrek 2009, all acknowledged that comic series as being canon. And, if I recall correctly, one of the writers of that comic series

Puzzled me as well. A dear pal of mine once had a cat who was the living embodiment of Garfield, albeit with an orange and white coat, rather than black and orange.

Completely agree with your post. I mean, who the hell has ever run around referring to the FBI as ‘the Fe-bye’ or ‘Fe-bee’??!! Though, in the case of the CIA, curiously enough, Spanish speakers tend to phonetically refer to them as ‘la see-ah’.

Very pleasantly surprised by this news!!! Now, that said, I figured I’d just share a text chat with a fellow Trekkie and Star Trek Online pal about all this.
