That top one flatters her face shape a lot more than her current long straight hair/long waves IMO.

I only know another group as attached and stupidly proud of their geographic location as newyorkers are...Texans. Probably neither will appreciate my comparison but it’s still true.

In either case, it’s about white people not wanting to live by/with black people (with gentrification, whites don’t just come back, they kick out people of color).

There’s an old saying that the Southern man doesn’t care how close the black man gets as long as he doesn’t get too big, while the Northern man doesn’t care how big the black man gets as long as he doesn’t get too close. So black mayor, WGAF, black tenants in the building, WE’RE FUCKING MOVING NOW EDITH.

“We’re not paying that much money to have black people live in the building.” If it’s white tenants only, it’s clean. I know it’s a little bit racist...

Amen, amen, amen. I work with several school districts. This month I’m in a mostly white, middle-class/wealthy district class. Last month, I was in classes in the racially diverse, poor district. The idea that a bunch of second graders who are below reading level should be able to overcome being hungry, not always

I wonder how many of these New Blacks drive themselves.

I know a former professor who used almost that exact line on a student. His girlfriend went into labor and he missed an exam. The professor said that since he wasn’t the one actually doing the birthing, that wasn’t a legitimate reason to miss class. He was not ashamed of this at all, in fact, he would tell the story

The Republican Party would like to express its appreciation to the New Blacks for their work on its behalf.

So it depends on the quality of the dessert. If it’s mediocre, you’re better off with pie. But really good cake trumps really good pie any day of the week.

Sorry, ganache trumps both of those, be it, white, dark or milk chocolate. In the absence of ganache I’ll settle for chocolate buttercream, but only if I have to.

I’m staunchly Team Cake most of the time, but then I remember The Piemaker, my absolute ideal man, and I consider switching loyalties.

I think you may have missed something; the region was allowed to choose, and the - reasonably slim, but still decisive - majority chose to stay. The ‘No Campaign’ wasn’t preventing the referendum from being held; it simply represented, and campaigned in favour of, the ‘No’ side of the debate.

I always find it amusing when politicians talk about parental leave. You know who gets zero paid maternity/paternity leave? Federal employees.

I’m going to guess you are under 25.

She’s a bit like Jhumpa Lahiri in this regard. Both seem to be quite introverted, and not particularly fond of being ‘out in the open’. Granted, Lahiri to my knowledge has no online presence, but sometimes I’ve seen in interviews people trying to take her narratives into some preconceived notions about racial issues

Just like how they don’t listen to Jessica Williams about not wanting to host the daily show. Sometimes “well intentioned” feminists don’t know when to take a step back when black women are talking.

Love her so, so much.

Remember that time, she called herself mom in chief and white feminists tripped over themselves trying to come for her, and then they were met with clap backs heard round the world? Good times

Every time I hear her speak I can’t help but think that the wrong half of her marriage occupies the Oval Office.
