Here’s something to think about. You might be working in some other department, such as sales, and your bonus is tied to sales performance. Meanwhile, some jerks over in engineering screw things up, which causes sales to plummet. Therefore, you get no bonus. None. Meanwhile, you’re writing tuition checks for your kid

It’s been that way for many years. When the first New Beetles were being tested, I used to see them out on the roads early on Sunday morning. My motorcycle club rode from Pinellas County, up to Brooksville, and back. That’s when we’d usually see something. That was at least 18 years ago.

New Jersey. Why? Because everybody here drives like an idiot. If an autonomous car fails in testing, it’ll blend in with the locals and nobody will know.

More like, “these cars are not made for Manhattan potholes.” The whole point of the X1/9 is curvy country roads, not urban gridlock. If you want to do Italian urban gridlock, get a Vespa.

You don’t need a therapist. There is nothing wrong with you. I drove several of these when they were close enough to “new” to recognize a heckuva lot of affordable fun. With these cars, it’s about momentum, rather than acceleration. Added bonus: it shares headlight motors with a Ferrari 308.

I’m old enough to have driven several of these when they were close enough to “new.” They’re great, but that’s why I have a Miata now.

Beginning in 1978 on the Corolla SR5, yes, they were stock wheels. But first, they appeared on the Celica GT in 1973, at least here in the US.

My older brother had the two-door version of that Corolla. He put 220,000 miles on it. The tinw0rms had devoured the strut towers, and he showed that to the guy who bought it. He got $1200 anyway. It never occurred to either of us to put the pressed-steel wheels from my 1974 Celica GT on it, but that’s what you see

I wonder how much Daimler-Benz paid Mazda for the rights to “GLC?”

and the driver’s reaction to her statement was, uh, what?

1979 was the last year for clear foglights from the factory in the U.S. in 1980, they switched to yellow.

Without seeing the interior, and given the cheap wheels, I’m going with crack pipe. If the interior is nice, my needle swings to “nice price.”

Chevrolet sells a rebadged Nissan NV van. I wouldn’t rule out Nissan.

I’m calling “bullshit” on the price of the tow. I’ve used AAA and it’s free, up to a certain distance. After that distance, it’s “pay through the nose” if you’re in the Northeast.

“Fa loves Pa!”

They can launch the pilot program in New Jersey.

I lived in Florida for 20 years. I now reside in New Jersey. Lemme tell ya son, adjusted for population size, New Jersey gives Florida a run for its money.

As a former Florida resident, I can assure you that “driving commando” goes back. I remember back in the late 80s, a woman, who worked a public defenders office, was stopped for speeding. When the police asked her to step out of her car, her response was “I’m sorry officer, I’m not wearing anything but this shirt.”

Out

I’d rather spend the $6500 and a bit more to get something pre-GM as well.

I think it’s about $1500 too high. That’s not really that much. Thor’s hammer could really flatten the fat out of one’s wallet, though.
