The best: Vanessa Hudgens embodying what it is to be a live performer and doing everything she could to make the show go on. I could write a multi tiered essay extoling her grace last night, but I'll keep it simple: I believe she not only made her father proud, but also everyone who has ever had to suffer a loss and

“All I Need Is An Angel”
This is the one new track that was written specially for Sunday’s telecast.

“We are very excited,” executive producer Marc Platt has said of this new tune which was written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal) for the character of Frenchy (“Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen).

Unimaginable circumstances. Tip of the hat to her unwavering professionalism.

What a way to show that you’re a true professional!

Loved it. I purposely didn’t compare it to the movie though, because, there is no comparison. This version though, was extremely entertaining and Hough was excellent. Who knew she could sing, and was that good at it? She was great, great job by all.

Vanessa Hudgens gave me chills, y’all. She’s as dedicated as they come.

My dad died when I was 26..I cant imagine how difficult it is for her to function on stage. Rooting for her. :)

Damn... hits close to home. Lost my dad to colon cancer while working on Babes in Arms. (And I hated that show. The politics and drama surrounding that choice were just awful for my senior year in high school) I went back to rehearsal the same day and was just surrounded by love and support from everyone.

Pour one out for Vanessa as you sing and hand-jive along.

I’m going through a rethinking of my religious/spiritual beliefs. I still call myself a Christian even though I haven’t gone to church in 20+ years. I feel mostly indifferent to religion or if there is a god. That said, it is hard to express condolences or hope to get well without referring to prayer. It’s just part

I’m pretty much godless and was on one occasion dragged to a spiritualist healing ceremony by the slightly kooky side of my family. When it was my turn to go up, I sat in a chair in front of a gorgeous young man who asked me my name and how I was, I responded “I’m well” out of habit, and he replied with a smile, “like

This is just my experience

Regardless of if prayer works, it’s nice and even comforting that someone is focusing some of their energy into actively thinking of and rooting for you. Prayers don’t cause miracles, no, but they give you the sense that you are not facing what you’re facing alone, and I think that’s worth a thank you.

Prayers are for the living, so they know they’re not alone.

Of course, because what you are really thanking is the thought and intention. The act of praying if you will. Granted, I don’t believe in prayer, but still. It’s the thought that counts.

Yeah, that’s pretty much how I see it, and how my mother saw it when she was going through chemo. I figure that “I’ll be praying for you” is a way of saying, “I’ll be thinking of you, and I hope that everything works out for the best.” While it probably doesn’t help in a direct way, it’s nice to know that you have

Yeah I’m godless too but feel that others are praying for me is oddly comforting. In my corporate job people were super kind and generally prayerful when things happened and it was nice even though I didn’t share the belief. FUCK CANCER.

I think you should thank people that are coming from a good place.

Thank you. My dad was an atheist and truly appreciated people’s prayers while he was fighting cancer.

So awful. I hope she finds some peace in doing this show as a tribute to her father - I couldn’t imagine the strength that will take.
