Disappointed in answers / choices.

There was this one guy, my parents tell me about all the time.

I thought they already come with one. At least my C63 P31 does anyway.

Do you have a 2005 XC90, or are you just so insane you pulled that out of thin air as a reference point?

Waiting for the first Tesla fanboi whine post....

Don’t forget the V6 EX-L Coupe. You can still get that with three pedals and leather.

you are right, you couldn’t.

I thought you couldn’t get an Accord with a manual and leather seats anymore.

The new car I “need” to buy right now:

Agree with you on the Accord thing and it would be a definite contender if I can ever find one on a lot to drive and buy. I can't be without a car once I sell my TDI back to VW so sadly I am most likely stuck with what I can find on a lot and the Accord auto does nothing for me.

I’m in the same boat but drive 40k+ miles per year!

It’s Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. It’s a recent series. Really a simple link wouldn’t do because it could come off as unflattering. Also, I will not provide one because you could just highlight the relevant portions of this comment and right click a Google Search. But, anyway, it’s super apt and I’m not

I think what GeneralSnus is saying is spend 10k less than your diesel VW cost on a used car that gets say 25-30 mpg, and you still going to save money because you spent less up front even though you’re spending more on fuel. I just did the math of a gas car at 30 mpg and a diesel at 40, and you’re saving $550 a year

My little bmw 3 series gets 35 driving around the endless nothingness of Wyoming and Idaho, little car/big state is wonderful for mileage and driving experience

Well you got a really cheap deal on your TDI so that makes this a little different, but if you have been following volkswagen forums for the latest batch of tdi vehicles youd know that they are HORRIBLY unreliable. You may obviously get lucky and have no problems but statistically they are worse than practically any

test drove Chevy cruze eco before I bought my passat in 2014.

Let me phrase that differently, I care about reliability and not spending copious amount of money on fixing a car, also, I would rather not be stranded as well.

I’m in a similar boat. My commute is a bit less, but my weekend driving is prodigious. Between travelling to races around the Western states, hunting, fishing or canoeing trips and visits to family 1000mi weekends are not uncommon. If a destination is less than 12hrs away, I prefer to drive.

My passat TDi cost me 23k OTD plus 0% for 60 months.

But it’s a fucking prius. ewwww. No offense to you or your parents intended.
