A24 has had a few duds on their hands, but they still gave them a theatrical release. You could even argue that most of their movies aren’t exactly “well received” since casual audiences (and some cinephiles, really) don’t always respond well to their films (both Under the Skin and The Witch are in the sixes on imdb).

Have you seen Orson Welles’ version? It’s quite good and visually stunning. I still prefer Polanski’s, but Welles’ adaptation may be more your style.

David Lynch will surely enjoy this.

Once again though, the movie would get mired down in technical details if they kept explaining and adding equipment in case of some threat. Eventually, you just have to rely on the audience to overlook that stuff.
