it was pretty obvious Republicans will just vote down party lines. History has taught us this with past elections. On the flip side, those principle progressive voters that didnt vote or voted third have their morals and ethics to feed off of for the next 4 years while liberal policies are gutted and repealed.

You know what pisses me off? I know a LOT of people who are fucking rich white Southerners who haven’t felt SHIT for pain from the recession. Their kids aren’t on meth. They haven’t lost their jobs. They’re just assholes who want smaller government because that means they’ll pay less taxes. Those people tipped

But... but economics! Rust Belt! We don’t understand Middle America, and need to relate to their pain and feel sympathy regardless of how much pain they happily inflict on anyone else! Oh and not hurt their feelings by pointing that out!

Canada’s about to get a whole lot gayer

his dangerous “gender identity” directives

I said this to my husband last night. W. Was problematic. I wasn’t fans of McCain or Romney, but even with George W Bush, I felt like he seemed like a good person with good intentions. Same with the others—we had myriad fundamental disagreements and I did not want them to be elected. But Trump is a different ballgame.

We were totally undeserving of Obama, while Trump is exactly what this country fucking deserves.

What did you want her to do? What more could she have possibly done? Get a fucking time machine and not give the Goldman Sachs speeches? She went left on everything. And people still just called her disingenuous or any other matter of things because she wasn’t their first pick.

Great, thanks for the reassurance. Again, I’ll think first and foremost of crying Bernie fans who were unenthusiastic about Clinton as I lose my health insurance. And my right to get an abortion. And my right to free birth control. And when people assault my Muslim, Black, and Latino friends. I’ll think, gosh darn

Look at places like Mississippi and Texas and then try to tell me the Republicans are not dead serious about stoping access to abortion. Now they can take what they’ve been doing at the state level to the federal.

First thing I thought too. Could’ve used this enthusiasm and energy on election day. Obama said it perfectly: “Don’t boo. Vote!”

Turn out was down, that is why Hillary lost, because of turn out. Bernie supporters, had he won, would have FUCKING DEMANDED that Hillary supporters turn out and vote for him, even though they spent a year online calling us “cunts”. The double standard is sickening.

Yes, white folks did vote him in. That’s the fucking problem. They looked at their POC neighbors and said, “Nope, the possibility of lower taxes and the chance to tarnish the legacy of our first black president is worth more than them.” The white Republicans (and Independents in Name Only) were going to align

No, our turnout went down. We needed to step up to the plate and we didn’t. Barack won in 2008 because of younger voters. We could have swung this thing it was so close.

Y’all are ridiculous. Nobody took a gamble. White people voted for white supremacy, and it won.

I’d say it was totally fathomable, people got complacent. The news reported that polls that said Hillary can’t lose, and dems didn’t feel an urgency to vote. I fucking KNEW this was going to happen.

Honest question: people here lambasted Trump supporters who said they would not accept the results if Clinton won, that she’s never be their president, etc. How is it okay to say that about Trump? I have not heard any allegations about rigging, fraud, or other hijinks going on to push a Trump victory. I mean, as much

Turnout matters. Just look at the voting totals. Trump didn’t even get the total number Romney or McCain got. The Dem side for some unfucking- unfathomable reason just didn’t turn out. WAY less voters than 08 for Obama and 12.

It’s just white people trying to make themselves feel better. If there’s one thing we’re good at, it’s fucking complaining without doing the work.

I voted for Hillary.
